When the team at Hyatt Place Metrotown approached us, they had a clear goal. They wanted their building to do something most commercial properties never achieve after dark. Stop people in their tracks.
The property sits at one of Burnaby's busiest intersections, with thousands of people passing by every evening. The existing facade disappeared into the night.
We designed and installed a continuous RGBW LED linear system that wraps the entire glass podium canopy from corner to corner. The system is fully app controlled, giving the property team complete flexibility to program any scene they want. Warm white for a refined everyday presence. Full dynamic colour for New Year's Eve, Pride, a private event, or simply because the mood calls for it.
For hotels, restaurants, and commercial properties, the exterior is the first impression. It sets the tone before a guest ever walks through the door and it becomes part of the identity of the building itself.
