Hollyburn Charm

This backyard garden in West Vancouver is the kind that rewards a slow walk through. Colours layered on colours, dahlias and foxgloves reaching upward, a rounded shrub anchoring the centre of the beds, a stone path threading through it all, and a garden statue keeping quiet watch from the foliage.

At night, light moves through the space the way the garden itself does, in layers. Each planting pocket holds its own, the warm glow drawing out the reds, purples, and pinks that fill the beds. The flowering tree in the side garden opens up under the uplight, its pink blooms sitting bright against the evening sky, shadows playing across the white fence behind it.

From the dining room, the bay window frames it all like a painting. A garden this considered deserves to be seen from every angle, at every hour.
