Queens Park
This mid-century brick home sits just steps from Queens Park, and the garden was already doing a lot of the heavy lifting in the daytime. The goal was to carry that character into the evening without overdoing it.
On the front entry, we used low-profile lights mounted into the concrete retaining wall to wash light down across the staircase and create safe, even illumination along the pathway. A feature uplight at the base of the ornamental tree lets the canopy take centre stage at night the same way it does during the day. Red rhododendrons flanking the entry get just enough ambient spill to hold their colour after dark.
Around the front facade, fixture placement stays understated to match the clean lines of the architecture. Soft, layered garden lighting fills the beds without washing out the brick or the teal front door.
